Get to Know Shannon

I have been a resident of Jasper County for over thirty years. My husband and I have raised our three boys in Jasper County while teaching them our beliefs of service, dedication, loyalty, and truthfulness.

I have served the citizens of Jasper County for 16 years both in the Sheriff’s Office and the Treasurer’s Office, where I am the Chief Deputy Treasurer.

During my time in the Sheriff’s Office I served many years as the Commissary Officer. This position entailed much more than just selling snacks to detainees. I provided record keeping for all detainees funds to be kept separate while being held in one account. I worked diligently to balance expenditures and deposits for each detainee fund.  The Jasper County Detention Center houses an average of 180 inmates on a daily basis with those numbers going as high as 300 in years past.

My husband John has been a member of the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office for 29 years, earning the Life Saving award & Deputy of the Year.

I served as the Treasurer for the Boy Scouts of America Troop 70 for many years, accounting for all specific Troop funds and individual scout accounts.
